Advanced First Aid

The WorkSafeBC Advanced First Aid course is designed for individuals seeking comprehensive training and certification equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to respond effectively in emergency situations.

This intensive course consists of 77 hours of instruction, delivered over 10 days, adhering to the First Aid Program Standards. Throughout the course, participants will engage with 21 detailed modules, each broken down into focused lessons that cover a wide range of advanced first aid techniques and protocols. Each instructional day consists of immersive learning with additional time allocated for breaks to ensure an optimal educational experience.

Successful candidates will be issued a WorksafeBC Advanced First Aid certificate valid for 3 years.

  • Photo ID
  • At least 16 years of age. *Note: Designated primary first aid attendants must be at least 18 years of age
  • Physically able to perform all of the First Aid tasks required to complete the learning tasks
  • A WorksafeBC Statement of Fitness declaration
  • If applicable, a Physician’s Medical Certificate must be received prior to issuance of certificate
