Trauma Informed Practice explores the theoretical foundation of best practice in supporting those who have experienced trauma. Many areas are covered to develop skills in understanding the impact of trauma in all areas of one’s life including neurobiologically, emotionally and behaviorally. A deepened understanding of trauma leads to skillful and responsive care. Vicarious trauma and secondary traumatic stress will also be discussed along with supportive self-management skills.
