Traffic Control Flagging

This course is required for those monitoring, controlling, and directing traffic in and around maintenance and construction areas. It provides in-depth coverage of the skills and information needed to become a qualified traffic control flag person. Students spend both scheduled days gaining practical experience with a qualified instructor.

Successful participants must pass a written exam and practical evaluation.

Graduates earn proof of completion training documentation, and become part of a provincial database that documents trainers and Traffic Control Persons. Successful completion of class participation and examination result in a British Columbia Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA) certificate valid for three years.

A $75 deposit is required for the Traffic Control Flagging training guide. Cash only. Guide will not be issued without deposit. At the end of class, the instructor will keep the deposit if: you wish to keep the guide, it is not returned, or is returned damaged.

  • Canadian Standard's Association (CSA) approved safety footwear (steel-toe boots) is required for the practical instruction.
  • Participants are outside both days. Dress according to the weather.
