Part-Time Customer Service Representative

Job Overview                                                                                                                                                                                                           The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is a unique program of government tasked with the responsibility of preventing and managing wildfire on the landscape. With a workforce of approximately 1600 the program’s staff are dedicated to undertaking the BCWS mandate in delivering effective wildfire management and emergency response support to protect values, while encouraging sustainable, healthy and resilient ecosystems. What you bring

Job Overview                                                                                                                                                                                                         

At Montship, our Marine (Ship) Agents are responsible for meeting all ship needs for arrival to departure from the ports we are supporting. You will be opening PDAs, ensuring communication updates to the ships, the owners and your coworkers, coordinating all logistical requirements for the ship calls including at times visits to the ports and arranging crew changes. This position will be reporting to our office in Vancouver, but based in Kitimat.

We are looking for an experienced maritime professional who is passionate about the industry and loves the flexible work arrangement. You will be on call 24/7 to meet vessel requirements, working collaboratively with our Ship Services team.

Qualifications:

  • +1 years experience in a similar role.
  • Local experience in the maritime shipping industry is preferred
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages an asset
  • High level time management, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work outdoors and on different work shifts
  • Adhere to and promote health and safety guidelines in the workplace

What you'll do

Automotive and Heavy Vehicle Partsperson at BC Hydro identifies vehicle parts and supplies, issues vehicle supplies, parts, and shop tools. Accepts and records deliveries of materials and maintains the stock room. The BC Hydro fleet consists of 3,000 vehicles including passenger vehicles (e.g. cars, SUVs, passenger vans), light vehicles (e.g. pick-up trucks, commercial vans, flat deck trucks), heavy vehicles e.g. man lifts, digger derricks, crane trucks), mobile machines (e.g. fork lifts, self-propelled man lifts) and trailers (e.g. pole trailers, reel trailers, utility trailers). Fleet Services delivers the service via a main maintenance garage, satellite workshops and mobile work shops. As an apprentice in this trade, you would:
* Work with a Journey person to identifies automotive parts and supplies, issues automotive supplies, parts and shop tools
*Accepts and records deliveries of materials and maintains the stock room
* Arranges for shipping of materials, prepares way bills, delivery slips and other records
* May be required to pick up or deliver parts and operate a forklift

 

What you bring
The successful candidate will have:
* Graduated from high school with the following courses: English 12, Math 11 and Physics 11 / Science & Technology 11 (or equivalents).
* Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial tools/equipment
* Truck and/or automotive experience preferred
* Normal color vision
* A minimum of a valid BC Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent
* Forklift certified or ability to obtain forklift certification
* Strong interpersonal skills to deal with both internal and external customers
