Junior Network Analyst - Information Technology Services (Terrace)

Job description and duties

Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a continuing full-time Junior Network Analyst commencing as soon as possible.  A flexible schedule is required as some evening and weekend work may be necessary as well as some travel between campuses. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Support Staff Scale, Level 12: $2,646.00 biweekly plus a comprehensive benefits plan.

Duties:   The Junior Network Analyst assists the senior Analyst and is responsible for supporting network infrastructure, including the administration and troubleshooting of local and wide area networks. This role involves managing VLANs, assisting with network upgrades, performing backups, and ensuring network security through firewall maintenance and monitoring. The analyst will also collaborate with IT Service Desk for device deployment, assisting with resolving incidents, and contribute to network documentation and disaster recovery planning. This position provides an opportunity for professional growth, requiring a diploma in IT, a foundational understanding of networking protocols, and a commitment to professional development.

Qualifications

A diploma (degree preferred) in IT-related field along with two years of directly related work experience. CISCO CCT, CCNA or equivalent certification is preferred. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

Proven skills and experience with combination of the following must be demonstrated:

  • Excellent problem-solving and consulting skills.
  • Skilled with cloud computing, scripting, and writing and routing protocols.
  • Proficiency in a variety of programs and software.
