Health and Wellness Centre
The Health and Wellness Centre, located in Waap Amgam (House of Cedar) at the Terrace campus, houses the offices of Terrace’s Student Engagement Coordinator, the Mental Health and Wellness Officer, and the Director of Student Health Services. The centre is a beautiful, open space located next to the Cedar Café. It is designed to enhance mental wellness while serving as the College’s regional hub for remote services across campuses.
The centre strives to support students in all aspects of their well-being: social, emotional, and physical. Multiple nooks have been set up in the centre to help ease stress – a colouring nook, a reading nook, a puzzle and game nook, and a meditation nook complete with Zen gardens and meditation floor pillows. Students can engage the centre physically and remotely for help and guidance for any mental health or wellness concerns. The space also features a virtual consultation room where students can have privacy during a virtual appointment with a healthcare provider or a mental health professional.
